Harpo's Hook Ups

I was surfing around Facebook a few days ago when I saw an item from the Oprah page come in on my news feed. It was a last call for Harpo's Hook Ups.

So I scooted on over to Oprah.com and found the page. Basically it's a last chance to submit your story to Oprah to have her make a dream of yours come true.

Instantly I thought if anyone can make my Glee dreams come true, it's Oprah!

So I filled out the form. Here's what I submitted.

Dear Oprah,

Six words - I want to be on Glee!

From the moment the show premiered, I had family and friends phoning me to tell me how much the character of Rachel (played by Lea Michele) reminds them of me. We look very similar and we're both diehard Broadway babies. We both want to feel special and we think we can achieve that through song.

For my whole life, people have asked, "Why aren't you on Broadway?" or "Why haven't you been given a recording contract?" I wish I knew the answer. It just seems that I have yet to be in the right place at the right time.

The Glee producers announced casting for Season 2, via MySpace. I cannot describe how excited I was that an opportunity had presented itself. I put together a video submission pitching myself as Rachel's long lost sister. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4tWXoqa0go

Sadly, but not surprisingly, nothing came of it.

I also started a blog to chronicle my dream of being on the show: http://iwannabeonglee.blogspot.com I've had a couple strange coincidences happen, most recently the song I did for my audition was a song they featured in the episode called "Comeback".

Since the show established who Rachel's mom is (played by Idina Menzel), it turns out I'm a bit too old to play her sister. So I changed my focus to getting on the show as Rachel's aunt.

If there's anyone who could make this happen, it's you Oprah. If I could have the chance to be on the show even for just one episode, it would honestly be the event of my life. And then one day, I can tell my future children that yes, mommy did have that once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Ann-Marie Zammit

I said a little prayer and hit the send button.

I loaded up this blog today when lo and behold, I found this footprint.

HOLY FRACK could it be that an Oprah producer visited my blog!?!?!?

AND WOULDN'T IT BE RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING IF I GOT ON BOTH OPRAH AND GLEE?!?!?!

I honestly think it had to be someone from the Oprah show. The timing is right and the city is right. It can't be just another coincidence!

OPRAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! WHOOOOOOO!!!!!

I'm wishing on every star in the sky and praying to all that is good and kind in this universe....
